  • 9 Months and counting...

We have 9 months until the wedding day! According to all the "checklists" and "timelines" I've found in my quest for guidance, we are way behind. No matter. I'm comfortable with where we're at.

I finalized the "Save the Date" design (see attached photo). I arranged for them to be printed online because I found a SWEET deal! They are en route to my place as I write this. As soon as I gather addresses and such, you should be expecting one in the mail! I know it sounds early, but because our wedding is on a holiday weekend, I wanted to provide extra time for plans to be made. Depending on how far away you live, I'm sure you can make it back home for fireworks (OR, you can always stay in Ames for ours!). :)

I had my first wedding planning "freak out" the other day. I was sitting there with Josh, Mom, Scott and Dan discussing ideas and plans. It just HIT me square in the face... OMG, I have so much to do! Of course, if you know me, you know that I want my hands in EVERYTHING. I might have to let go a little! :P

Josh and I have pretty much been on the same page as far as ideas and plans go. I really thought it would be harder to agree on things. It just goes to show you how alike we really are. HOWEVER, the one thing that might make us pull our hair out...

    Can you guess it?

Music. Josh's ipod is filled with heavy metal... mine has a little bit of everything. We have a lot of "do not plays" but not many "please plays." Compromise is in order!

Thats all I have for now. I'm in school and trying to plan this thing at the same time. Lets hope I don't loose my mind before the big day!

  • One Year!

We have one year and a day until our wedding!

It is really starting to sink in that we're going to be husband and wife and couldn't be anymore excited! Josh is really starting to get into the planning aspect of the wedding. He is getting exceedingly stoked the more we talk about it.

I promise we'll plan something thats a TON OF FUN! We have lots of sweet ideas and little surprises! :)

  • Ceremony Site Confirmed!

We got the word today! Â In fact, a text message from Mom carried the message! :)

    What is our plan?Â
Josh and I had our first kiss (that is soooo corny) at Brookside Park in Ames, IA.

We wanted to get married outdoors, but didn't really have an idea where. Â Brookside Park seemed to be the natural place. Â BUT, we wanted to take a step further...
For those of you who don't know, I played softball pretty much all the way through elementary school and part of the way through high school. Â I also manage/played a city league in Ames. Â Josh is a HUGE baseball fan, and also played on the coed team. Â
So..... we decided to get married at home plate. Â
No more details. Â The rest is a surprise!Â
    :)

  • WE SET A DATE!

    July 3, 2010

FINALLY we set a date!  We've been engaged for 2 years, and we finally decided it is time.  We couldn't be more excited.  We have over a year to plan, which is a good thing since I plan to do as much on my own as possible.  Planning has started.  We put a deposit down on a reception place.

    See map here:

We have an idea for the ceremony but are still crossing our fingers that it will pan out.

I'm looking forward to that next step in my life.  I couldn't be happier about everything.  My ultimate plan for my life is finally moving forward.  It isn't just a "dream" anymore.  Josh is excited, too.  More so, though, looking forward to the step after marriage... starting a family.  He is ready to be a dad.  Now I just have to come around.  :)

I can't wait to get all of our friends and family together and celebrate!  We hope to throw a great party!
